Flowers of September

Aster (Star Flower); It is a type of dirt flower that belongs to the daisy family and has been known since ancient times. Aster means star in Latin. The previous English name for aster was "Starwort", which means star grass. Later on, it changed its name to Michaelmas daisy because it bloomed on the days that coincided with St. Michaelmas Day in September. The color of September is purple and it means heroism, love, afterthoughts and grace. The same color signifies loyalty in China.

Mythology: Virgo (the virgin representing Virgo) sprinkles stardust on the earth and Aster Flowers bloom in the dust-scattered grassland. Goddess Asterea bends down from where she is and looks towards the world and starts to cry when she cannot see the stars; Where tears fall on earth, Aster Flowers begin to bloom. Another Native American legend is about a devastating war between two tribes. When the war raged, all the villagers in one of the tribes died, but the two younger sisters escaped and hid in the forest. One of the girls is wearing deerskin dresses with tassels and lavender blue, the other bright yellow. The girls are looking for the Herb Woman, who lives nearby. While the girls are sleeping under the stars, the Herb Woman reads her horoscopes and sees that there are enemies chasing the girls. To protect the children, he sprinkles a magic potion on them and covers the girls with leaves. The next morning, two flowers bloomed where the sisters slept. One is lavender blue and the other is spike yellow Asters. Superstitions: In England and Germany, where aster flowers are also known as star grass, this plant was believed to have magical powers. In ancient Greece, aster leaves were burned to ward off evil spirits and demons. Symbolism: Aster flowers are placed on the graves of French soldiers and symbolize the wish "I wish it wasn't so".
