Flowers of November

Chrysanthemum (chrysanthemum) means optimism, joy, longevity and happiness. It is the flower of October in China and September in Japan.

Yellow Chrysanthemum is a flower unique to November. The name chrysanthemum is a combination of the Greek words "Chrysos" meaning gold and "Anthemon" meaning flower. Chrysanthemum is also referred to as the "Oriental Flower" and "Flower of Life" because it has been cultivated in China for over 3000 years. Tao Yanming was the first producer of the flower in history (around 400 AD). After his death, the city he lived in was named Juxian, meaning "Chrysanthemum City". According to the Chinese art of Feng Shui, Chrysanthemums bring happiness to your home. The Japanese have a legend that tells of twelve young girls and twelve boys who set out from China in search of the "Plant of Youth," which they believe keeps people young forever. They take baskets of chrysanthemums with them to exchange for this herb. Later, the ship they boarded sinks off an unemployed island, they swim until they find land and plant their chrysanthemums here. This is said to have been the first time the chrysanthemum arrived in Japan, and to this day, a sixteen-petalled golden chrysanthemum is featured on the Japanese imperial coat of arms. December Flowers CAUTION: Take precautions against freezing and injury! Poinsettia (Poinsettia) Buy the flower if its bristles are complete and full-colored, and if the cores have not turned a distinctive yellow color.
